Lindsie

Lindsie was elected as a Torch of Wisdom Foundation Board Member in 2022 and currently serves as the Youth Programs Director. Lindsie is involved with the TOWF because she believes it is extremely important to give back and work in service of a vision larger than ourselves.

She truly believes in the mission and vision of the TOWF and am so grateful to be a part of planning and participating in quality programming that provides a positive impact on the lives of youth and those living in the Southeastern Michigan community-and beyond. A true educator at heart, Lindsie knows the impact that giving back can make. So much of my life’s work is giving back to youth in some way.

It has always been a personal mission to be a role model for young people that

look like me. As Lindsie transitions away from school-based service, she is extremely excited to partner with the TOWF to continue to give back to her community.

Lindsie is an experienced educator and leader in the urban community. She has had experiences as a teacher, teacher leader, dean, and principal in Detroit as well as in New York City with a leading urban school network. Lindsie’s educational background encompasses receiving her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Michigan State University as well as receiving her Educational Specialist degree from Oakland University. Lindsie also completed, with distinction, the Relay Graduate School of Education's National Principal Academy Fellowship where she focused on honing key instructional and cultural leadership skills to move forward as a transformational leader in education.

Currently, Lindsie is utilizing her educational coaching skills as a Leadership Coach for the Midwest Region with The New Teacher Project (TNTP), Inc. During her time in this role, she has reached over 250 instructional leaders and teachers and had a meaningful impact on the educational experiences of 5,600+ youth in urban communities.

Lindsie has the honor and privilege to serve in various volunteer roles. She is a Co-Chair of the Wisdom Warrior Project and a steering committee member of The Learning Network-Youth Employability Program. Both are signature youth programs through The Torch of Wisdom Foundation in Southfield, MI. She is a member of The Connection Network (TCN) and serves as the board Secretary.
