Kimberly

Kimberly was elected to the Torch of Wisdom Foundation Board of Directors in 2017. She is the immediate past Treasurer of the Board of Directors. Kimberly is dedicated to being a servant leader. She is passionate about creating opportunities for youths. Her interests are aligned with the goals and vision of the TOWF. As a community leader, Kimberly continues to advocate on behalf of all youth.


She understands that educational access and exposure is imperative and an integral component to academic achievement. Kimberly appreciates the community support she had while growing up and realizes the positive impact being involved in afterschool and weekend programs had on her life. She is driven to increasing opportunities and enhancing learning outcomes for youth.


Kimberly’s employment with Detroit Public Schools Community District spans over 23 years where she started as a Special Education Substitute Teacher. Kimberly’s administrative career with DPS started in 2010 with a promotion to Assistant Principal. Since that time, she served as an Academic Engagement Administrator, Summer Bridge and Summer School Program Director, Extended Day Program Director, Dean of Culture, Assistant Principal, and Assistant Principal In-Charge. She is currently Principal of Detroit Collegiate Preparatory High School at Northwestern.


Kimberly attended Wayne State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Master of Arts in Counselor Education with specialties in Agency and Community Counseling, Substance Abuse, and School Counseling. She also received a degree as an Education Specialist as well as Counseling Education and Clinical Supervision degree. She earned her Administrator Certification from Wayne State University.


She is member of the Blue Devil Scholars Program (LTU); Futures of Detroit, DCP Pathway Advisory Board, and Southfield Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. - Nominations, Chair
