  • Provided more than $20,000 to the Dr. Betty Shabazz Academy, which has grown 78 percent through Torch of Wisdom Foundation, Inc. funding since its inception in 2001

Cultural Arts

  • Co-Sponsored Delta Authors Tour with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated
  • Hosted literary luncheons that have exposed more than 3,000 people to local and national African American authors
  • Sponsored “An Evening with Alvin Waddles and Friends” featuring Cook, Dixon and Young (formerly Three Mo’ Tenors)

Community Enrichment

  • Investor Fraud Education
  • Financial Reality Fair
  • Partnered with Delta Sigma Theta Home Ownership Initiative National Program
  • Partnered with Delta Sigma Theta Southfield Alumnae Chapter to donate shoes to Africa
  • Presented $5,000 in funds to spousal abuse program of Dominion Family Services
  • Provided nearly $2,000 in direct support to individuals from Hurricane Katrina who transitioned to Metro Detroit area
  • Sponsored eight successful charity golf outings to fund academic scholarships and the future establishment of a facility to expand program services
  • September 2011 – TOWF purchased a facility for community enrichment at 21819 W. 9 Mile Rd., Southfield, MI 48075
